INDUSTRIES · FACADES

Periodic facade inspections, with the Competent Person in the office.

For PE firms running BCA periodic facade inspections in Singapore. Your operator flies and your facade inspector (FI) stays on site. The Competent Person (CP) directs the flight, raises the findings and issues the report, without travelling to each building.

01THE PROBLEM

A two-hour flight costs the CP a day. Travel, waiting and a small screen outdoors, for every building on the list.

01

Travel to every site.

The CP and facade inspector go to each building and stand beside the operator for the whole flight.

02

Judged on a small screen, outdoors.

Details are hard to see on a controller in daylight, which risks errors and re-flights.

03

Others can't take part.

Remote experts and the owner can't see the flight, so issues get missed or re-explained.

04

Fewer jobs per CP.

Each building takes a day of the CP's calendar before the report is even started.

02REGULATION

What the regulation asks for, and how Skyhost fits it. Skyhost doesn't change who is responsible. It changes where the CP can be while supervising.

…in the presence of the appointed competent person, or a façade inspector who is under the direct supervision and control of the appointed competent person

08FOR OWNERS AND MCSTS

Watch your building's inspection as it happens. Then keep the report where the next cycle can find it.

01

Join from anywhere.

Your representative gets a link from the booking. There's nothing to install.

02

Ask while the drone is there.

Questions get answered on the day, not by email a week later.

03

One record per building.

Reports and findings from each cycle stay together for the next inspection.

Facade questions

Can the CP supervise remotely under the PFI regulations?

The regulations require the CP, or a facade inspector under the CP's direct supervision and control, to be present. With Skyhost the facade inspector stays on site and the CP supervises live. Skyhost doesn't change who is responsible. Check with BCA if you're unsure about a specific building.

Does the report follow BCA's format?

Reports are drafted into the BCA forms set up for your firm. The CP reviews, makes the declaration and publishes.

Which drones work?

Any DJI drone your operator already flies, through its controller app, and other drones that can send RTMP.

Can the building owner watch?

Yes. Invite them from the booking and they join from a browser.

Does Skyhost carry out the inspection?

No. Your firm does. Skyhost provides the session, the review tools and the report.

Who flies the drone?

Your operator flies, under your permits and insurance. Your firm runs the inspection.

Run your next PFI with the CP in the office. Book a demo and we'll walk through a facade inspection, booking to report.
